After reading about the grand opening of The Goat on a local website, and more importantly after seeing a gorgeous picture of the Reuben Burger on The Goat’s social media, I knew I had to check it out. Plus, if it’s called the G.O.A.T., it’s gotta be pretty great right? Except this goat didn’t use footage of other bars’ kitchens to plan its menu.
I entered to dim red lighting and a song by The Smiths setting the mood. It was like being in an 80s detective movie, only I already knew what I was looking for, that Reuben Burger. With two bars and a sizeable menu of small and large plates, I had some tough decisions. Their menu includes bar favorites like cheese curds, wings, and short rib poutine, but they also have pork belly mac and cheese, crispy brussels sprouts, and a green chili BBQ jackfruit sandwich for the more adventurous patrons. You really can’t go wrong with any of these options.
