Pickles are the perfect additions to sandwiches, tacos, and other delicious foods! Just cut up your favorite vegetable (often cucumbers, red onions, and peppers). The ingredients depend on the size of the container, and the vinegar to water ratio can be adjusted to personal preference. An entire medium red onion or two small red peppers will fit in a 32oz jar with 24oz of water/vinegar.
Other than that, use 1/2 tablespoon salt and 1 tablespoon sugar per 16oz of liquid. Bring the liquid to a boil on the stove and add salt and sugar. Stir until completely dissolved. Pour into the container over cut vegetable. Let it sit until cool, then refrigerate.
